Tinker-Watkins Sand & Gravel, Inc., located at Mile 135.5 LDB of the Tennessee River, is an aggregate production and port facility. Founded in 1937 by James and Jewel Tinker, the firm is currently headed by Bob Watkins, President and Robert Watkins, II, General Manager.
Tinker-Watkins produces a variety of washed and screened or crushed brown river rock and an excellent grade of sand for construction projects. Tinker-Watkins products are highly regarded for their cleanly washed presentation and the high density of the gravel products provides a reliable and durable component for wear resistant concrete applications. Products can be delivered by barge transport, or by client or contract trucking.
The port facility includes a deep docking cell which allows access for all types of barges and marine equipment. The port’s large stockyard area provides great flexibility for both storage and on-load and off-load operations.
